Mysterious. Exciting. Exotic. Thought provoking. Sensitive. Mr. Hudson comes on the scene in his maiden voyage bringing electrifying words and thoughts that are burning with energy, insight, and forcefulness; yet are also sensitive and passionate. This current works reveals a glimpse of his being a child of the '70's and '80's, as it relates to some of his more topical works. Earnest Hudson's truth is potent, whether the words are shouted or whispered. These words have value and are unmistakably vital to rendering an understanding and purity of one's self. Mr. Hudson has dared to bare his soul and psyche to us, and I believe he has obtained that purity. About the Author Earnest L. Hudson, Jr., professionally known as "Ernie Hudson, Jr.," began his entertainment and creative writing pursuits as a child. His early writing influences were Haki Madhubuti, Nikki Giovanni, Amiri Baraka, Maya Angelou, and Richard Wright. During his teen years, Mr. Hudson underwent extensive theatrical training at Los Angeles' famed Black theater playhouse, Inner City Cultural Center (ICCC), and was one of the original participants in their Children's Reparatory Company; as an adult, he has completed 8 feature films. As an actor, Earnest is perhaps best known for his third season series regular work on the seminal HBO critically acclaimed show, "Oz," where he portrayed Muslim inmate "Hamid Khan." After many successful years in the corporate environment, Mr. Hudson has returned to the expressive arts to share his unique perspective through his many talents. "Freestyle Prophecies & Sacred Ciphers" represents a culmination of efforts to self-actualize towards his greatest potential. Earnest continues to write in several forms, is a life-time member of American Mensa, and remains active in various charitable organizations. He currently resides in Queens, NY, where he and his wife homeschool their children. He continues to lecture and teach others the skill of self-actualization through creative expression.
