It Doesn'T Work Like That

RA May says It Doesn't Work Like That is actually his third volume of poetry, if we count the two volumes he wrote, printed and bound for a best friend with whom he has shared a lifelong debate over various meanings and philosophies of life. He admits having come to poetry via philosophy, and this book reflects his methodology of using poetry to look more closely at some of the concepts and questions which may vex any awake and sapient mind. It's precisely due to the fact that May uses poetry as a means of analysis, and not solely as a means of communication, and even less as an end in itself, that his writing can be considered so unique.
