She can speak with many small and large forest creatures, this talent aids her as she leaves her beloved home and foster parents and travels to the capital of Thann. On her adventure she is accompanied by one of the guards, a large wolf and a prince of the Little Folk who has a blown up image of his worth. There are Little People, Fairies, Members of an Ancient race, mental telepathy, magic, battles and the development of talents and character as the story develops, and a surprise ending.
