A man of great faith with a compassionate heart for God's people, Dr. James Thompson, D.D., was born on September 24, 1939, during a very dark period in our country's segregated history in the Deep South. He was born in a small country town called Mi- in and later grew up on a sharecropper's farm in Luray, Tennessee.
