Nothing will ever be the same for Kate. Her whole life, she has happily followed the rules. Stuck in a midlevel program analyst position at Space Force, she diligently wears her mask out in public and never abuses the work from home order. She's not a scientist, but loves everything about space exploration. She's deeply committed to her boyfriend Kyle, and she relishes the daily runs in the park that are her stress relief-until an enormous and unimaginably diabolical mass shooting changes everything. When an unexplainable and bizarre interaction with a stranger during one of her runs makes Kate a person of interest in the shooting, she works with Kyle and her neighbor Sinclair, a NASA biophysicist, to evade the federal authorities trying to pin the violence on her.
