At the height of the Lebanese Civil War, Rola and Paul, two young teachers, were madly in love with each other and were due to marry soon. But the girl's parents and the circumstances of the war decided otherwise: Rola found herself in Canada as the wife of a rich Canadian-Lebanese man.
