It is the year 2125. Zach and his family live in the Dome, an artificial environment created on planet Earth in response to climate and environmental catastrophe. Zach and his friends Vincent, Melody and Tobias live normal lives - going to school, and playing soccer; riding their bikes, and using jetpacks. However, normality hides a darker side to their existence - every facet of their lives is tightly controlled. They exist on scant food rations, and their homes are run by VC, a computer network which monitors their every action. The children try not to draw attention from the brutal Security Service guards who roam the Dome day and night; these guards work for the Chairman and his head of the Security Service, a vicious bully called Harvey Legion. Zach's life is thrown into turmoil when his dad, Jon, is arrested by the Security Service. Without realising it, Jon has made a discovery that will change the course of their lives. Despite Zach's mum engaging a lawyer, Zach's dad has disappeared completely. His last message to his family sends Zach looking for answers. Using their ingenuity, and under the cover of The Dome Centenary Celebrations, Zach and his friends embark on a dangerous rescue mission, that takes them to places they didn't expect to go. They rescue Zach's dad and, in the process, uncover the truth of The Dome.
