We do not so much need a course or treatise on "How to Pray," as we simply need to read and imitate the prayers of the Bible. The premise of this study is that the chronological Bible presents an unfolding revelation through prayer. If the Bible represents a progressive revelation of who God is, who man is, and of sin and salvation, the prayers of the Bible present a narrative of God's desire for fellowship with man. Why else would God record so many prayers in the Bible? Which is more important in prayer, talking or listening? Reading God's Word, in general, is listening to God and thus solves the challenge of prayer. This book is designed for small group Bible studies including Questions for Discussion throughout. Teaching points are made accessible through Appendix A and should be used by the leader along with the Questions for Discussion.
