The Word of God is indeed more valuable than all the treasures in the Universe. It is the SUBSTANCE OF CREATION and by it, the Universe was made with everything in it. The author of the letter to the Hebrews says that "the word of God is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword..." Jesus adds that; humanity can not live on bread alone but on any word that proceeds from the mouth of God. The Sunday and daily reading is a notable companion for the journey of life: the Psalmist notes that the Word of God is a lamp to my feet and a light to my part. The sacred Scriptures hold that the Word of God is more valuable than all the treasures in the world. By it and through it, the Universe was made and everything therein. It cuts all the way through to where soul and spirit meet, to where joints and marrow come together. It judges the desires and thoughts of the heart". By implication, the Word of God is more valuable than all the treasures in the Universe; it creates, heals, delivers, restores, uplifts, encourages, rebukes. While considering the efficacy of the Word of God, the Psalmist says that it "is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path". He also adds that "God exalts his Word above his name". More so, Jesus tells us that we are made whole by the spoken words (cf. John 15:3).
