It's about being poor, but not realizing that you are, because everyone around you is in the same boat. An opportunity to get an education, an opportunity to work and an opportunity to serve the great country which they have adopted as their own. The author tells the story of how he went from working fulltime nights while in high school to earning a Masters' Degree. He describes how he went from a Private to Lieutenant Colonel, and Commanding a Squadron of over 400 Marines. Went from not speaking a word of English, to holding a Top Secret Clearance and becoming Deputy Director, Operations and Intelligence Division at Naval Space Command. He went from arriving in this country with nothing, to a solid military career and living the American Dream.
