Governance strategy and systems are one such concept. Today, governance has become an agenda issue for various academic and professional journals. It is widely accepted to be a significant source of competitive advantage. Although the study of governance is not new, it has only been recognized in the last two decades as being a crucial factor for organizational success. Governance has gained much attention from both academics and practitioners; however, as a discipline, it is still in its infancy, especially in the public sector. Unfortunately, public sector organizations that use governance frameworks or mechanisms without thorough knowledge and awareness of collaborative governance will fail to reap their true and full benefits.
