SURVIVING A CIVIL WAR

I woke up around 4.30 am to loud thudding sounds. They were bullets. I had never heard so much gunfire before. How many bullets did I hear in the last two days? Hundreds? Thousands? I do not know. One or 10,000. Each bullet stabbed my body, heart and head. Each one is unforgettable. Each bullet will echo in my head, all my life. I witnessed the desperation, pain, agony, hatred and fear that people go through, in these testing times, filled with uncertainty and insecurity. In this book, I present excerpts from a diary, which I maintained in those days. "This is neither being alone, nor being lonely. Every night when you sleep, you do not know, whether you will wake up alive the next morning. Therefore, you postpone sleeping. I am not in command.
