Ethan Richard's life couldn't be happier, or could it? He marries Jade, the woman of his dreams, and he loves his life, except he dreams of going to the stars again. His break comes when a star map is discovered on a cave wall on Chariclo pointing to Tau Ceti, but he fears taking Jade with him after almost losing her last time. He reaches a stalemate with Jade over taking her to Tau Ceti, with neither budging, until Loki Mason threatens to get to the star before Ethan.Ethan and Jade travel to Tau Ceti with their team and find a habitable planet, Caerus. While exploring there, they spot an unnatural structure. When they go to investigate, they find a stranded ancient sentient being, who tells them where humanity ultimately came from, solving the puzzle from Chariclo. They also see a black stela that turns out to be a portal only Ethan can activate, a gateway between universes across branes, but would Ethan chance use it?Loki finds out about the sentient being and kidnaps people close to Ethan, hijacking the new Russian hyperdrive ship to travel to Tau Ceti quickly. He forces Ethan to take him to see the sentient so he can do 'a business deal' with it. People from Ethan's ship come to rescue Ethan and the kidnapped victims, but some die in the ensuing battle and Jade is injured, close to death. The sentient tells Ethan that his only chance to save Jade is going through the portal and getting help from his people on the other side, but is the sentient being telling the truth, and will he risk his own life to try saving Jade's...?Ceti is the last instalment in the 'Reach For The Stars' trilogy.
