A selection of articles written by the author (Pedro . Palma) is compiled in this book. These essays analyze the realities lived for more than two decades in a Venezuela convulsed and full of contrasts. In that term, 40 years of democracy ended, and a period of authoritarianism and populism began. The latter, known as "the socialism of the XXI century," has been in force for more than twenty years. The reading of these chronicles, which are very valid today, sheds light on the development of Venezuela and its economic realities. They analyze the historical evolution of fundamental issues, such as inflation, the implemented economic policies, production, oil activity, employment, and poverty. Cultural, political, international, regional, and historical aspects are also included.
