My Lifetime Experience In The Politics Of Sierra Leone

Having benefited from the unique privilege of being at the center of political developments in Sierra Leone, I have convinced myself that my experiences must be shared with other Sierra Leoneans. Few Sierra Leoneans have had the opportunity of being in the heat of chieftaincy administration in protectorate Sierra Leone, and in post-independence politics at the national level.I have been through it all, and it gives me tremendous pride to narrate my lifetime experiences which, vast and varied as they are, provide lessons which will serve to guide present-day politicians as well as posterity in dispensing good governance that is so badly needed in our country.The highs and lows, twists and turns in the political life of a country can be heart- breaking for some and pleasing for others at any given time. The capacity of absorbing shocks in times of disappointment and showing moderation and tolerance when one is on the winning side, are important triggers for the prevalence of peace and tranquility in a country like Sierra Leone.Perhaps of even greater importance is the need to maintain harmonious relationships between the ruling class and the governed (individuals and Institutions). By cataloguing my personal experiences and narrating several vicissitudes in the country's political history, especially after independence, my belief is that I have provided answers to several questions that may have been lurking in people's minds.If indeed Sierra Leoneans find my narrations and clarifications useful, I would have realized the purpose for which this book is written
