This book contains a collection of 99 photographs taken on the streets of different European cities: Dublin, Cork, Cracow, Lisbon, Leipzig, Charleroi, Châtelet, Liège, Leeds, Porto, Chemnitz, Bremerhaven, Dundalk, and the island of Innisboffin on the West coast of Ireland.The photographs are in color as well as black and white and depict several spontaneous aspects of the life of humans and animals. All pictures, including my self-portrait with the chiming clock, are as spontaneous as one can think of as I strolled on the streets for hours taking the pictures of the interesting moments of life that I encountered along the way, as life unfolded before my eyes.From this point of view, the photographs are the result of chance and my aesthetic ideals. In them I try to combine beauty, geometry, chance, movement, surprise, color or lack of color, and chaos. Some pictures are very simple, yet very studied, while others are taken as if catching flies, taking advantage of the wonderful opportunity that is presented before my eyes. Sometimes, after taking them, I was surprised of discovering new drama or unforeseen elements, such as when I photographed people in movement and then I discovered and added element behind them that just happened to enter the image as I was taking it. Street photograph combines the love of life and art mixed with the unexpected and this is why I love to stroll on the streets whenever I have this opportunity. I hope that you will enjoy the contemplation of these images as much as I enjoyed taking them.
