Grandfathers Lost World (The Adventures Of Mike Vitter)

This is a story is about a young man Mike Vitter and his friends who decided to go looking for his Grandfather who disappeared on an Archaeological expedition in the southwest United States two years earlier. Shortly after leaving the Army and while waiting to start college, Mike's grandmother receives a letter from his grandfather that is two years old. Now with a map showing where they were headed Mike and his two friends Ron and Doug head to New Mexico to find out what happened to him. Here they find June Swartz and her father Jim who was a friend of his grandfathers and part of the expedition. Jim was found wondering in the desert six months earlier and recently released from a metal institution. Jim finds new life when Mike arrives and tells him he not only believes his story but wants to go and find his grandfather. Now with Jim's help, Mike and his friends head into a strange new world looking for his grandfather; after finding his grandfather they return home. Mike begins to realize he is in love with a native girl Brenda who he met in this other world and returns to get her. Shortly after returning, an explosion leaves them stuck in this other world; this starts a chain of events; that leads Mike and his friends through other portals and to other worlds and adventures as they try to find another way back home.
