Words Of Worship

He gathers all my burdens and lays them on His back. And one by one the healings done, beneath the Roman lash. And the final words of anguish from the heart of God's own son. 'I have given all I have to give. It is finished. It is done.' Words are more than a grouping together of random letters. They convey emotions, intent, and purpose. A harsh word can destroy and a gentle word can heal. Finding just the right words can be not only difficult but can be life changing. The Bible calls Jesus the Word. He is God's written statement in time to announce to man that there is a way back to His heart. When we worship, it is our desire to direct our words, inspired and heart-felt, back to Him as an offering of praise. This book is a collection of songs written to the Lord. For over more than three decades, these songs have been part of the author's private worship time with the Lord. They are now passed on to those who have the music in their hearts but could use support with the lyrics. Take these songs and use them to the glory of God. Consider them to be one of the three strands of worship songs-lyricist, musician, and of course, God. Ecclesiastes 4:12 tells us "a cord of three strands is not easily broken." God bless you as you sing to your Father and offer up these words as worship. May they line the path of praise with thanksgiving and prepare your heart to lean into the welcoming arms of your Father's loving embrace.
