hitler's revenge is a metaphor for transformation of the sleepy isolationist America of the 1930s into the globe-girdling leviathan we have become why hitler? because the change is unimaginable without him or the alliance, intelligence services, & the secret government created to destroy him why revenge? because of the trouble this transformation has wrought & the role of our democratically elected leaders in bringing it about their decisions, actions, & inactions provoked the attacks of September 11th & much of the trouble before & since They continue to provoke with drone attacks, so-called "special operations," & other secret & not so secret actions of what has long since become our permanent secret government only by recognizing & acknowledging this reality & the extent to which we are victims of our own making will we find a way out of this mess & let go the notion the world is ours to run
