Whoever follows the Exercises, walking along this path, reproduces the experience of the people of Israel, taught by YHWH Himself, who led them from slavery, passing through the test of the desert, to a promised land. To arrive at the possession of this land, they had to overcome continuous wars and difficulties, subsequent purifications that prepared them for a more sublime knowledge of their liberating God. In the end, with their faith refined in the crucible, they will be ready to celebrate the alliance with the Lord, who does not tire of calling His people to overcome their ongoing rebellion. Despite their repeated infidelity, the people are forgiven continually. God continues to look for them, simply because He loves them.
