Compassion is a process. What is important and beneficial about compassion is that it motivates us to work through the powerful feelings and thought patterns that block it. It envolves both a willingness to work through the resounding and often painful emotions that make empathy seem impossible. An opportunity for personal growth and a readiness to accept humanity and all its faults. A process of resolving painful issues, compassion is putting more and more energy and work into our own individual maturation. We come to value our own peace of mind more than holding onto resentments. Somewhere in the process we dissolve the hate, it becomes too heavy in our hearts as the weight of carrying it encumbers our own freedom. Compassion is not necessarily a one-time act, but a way of looking at a failure, with a greater sense of empathy and oneness of mind.. Lao tzu (600 BCD)
