In this homage to Edgar Rice Burroughs, a WWII American B-24 bomber is badly damaged over North Africa and forced to crash into a large cavern in the desolate Tibesti region. Captain David Ardell and his men discover a vast underground grotto that is home to a prehistoric jungle. There they find the remnants of a University expedition that had been attacked by the savage inhabitants of the strange world. Although its declared mission is to find fossils, the expedition leader, Professor Natalie Morgan, is secretly searching for traces of Egyptians that had travelled to Tibesti Massif long ago. Ardell and his men, along with the survivors of the expedition, must use their wits to escape the dangerous grotto while unravelling the mystery of the Egyptians that had travelled there thousands of years ago.
