Bullied...Not This Time!: A Bullied Teenager's Inspirational Journey

Bullying has burst into Mike's life as he walks into his 2nd grade classroom wearing thick, black, plastic-framed glasses. As he enters middle school, it gets mean and physical. It peaks during freshman year on Mike's long, afternoon bus rides from hell. Entering college a battle rages on with an internal bully inside Mike's head. This sparks intense battles with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, and substance abuse. Mike's spirit spirals downwards. He finds himself in a deep, dark hole, so close to calling it quits. He meets Kathleen, who inspires him to find purpose and passion. Mike tells the internal bully, "Not this time!" Facing his fears, he stops the excuses, digs deep, and "wills" himself out of that hole. Mike sets goals of finishing grad school, and becomes a teacher. Twelve years later Mike walks the halls as a high school principal! He hopes every reader enjoys these stories as he shares the pinnacle moments of the struggle, the power of laughter, and celebration of the climb. Mike's vision is that the book's message will inspire teens and young adults to shut down bullies; motivate victims to courageously eliminate the grasp of the internal bully; and energize parents and educators to better understand their kids. 15% of book proceeds will be donated to Low Country, South Carolina schools to enhance and support their anti-bullying programs.
