With "Imprints," Sandler goes deeper under the skin of poetry to explore those life experiences that leave their indelible mark on her generation of Baby Boomers. Mapping the soul, dealing with a parent's death, the heart moments with grandchildren coming, then going, finding a balance with time and nature ... all are examined through her gentle but discerning lens. She often writes in classic form like the sonnet, but always with a contemporary voice. Her two previous volumes of poetry, "One Path," and "Returning to Our Roots," are both available through Amazon.com. In addition, her poems have been published in literary journals, "Acumen," "The MOON," "Westward Magazine," and "Quail Tracks," the magazine for the San Diego Botanic Garden. Sandler is a graduate of the University of Michigan and has lived in San Diego for over forty years. She is a docent and historian at the San Diego Botanic Garden, as well as a wife, mother, grandmother and dog lover. Her writing is informed by those personal journeys and by a deep connection with the outdoor world.
