Find your Chill! Relax and express yourself with a beautifully illustrated coloring book from Color Me Chilled by artist Nancy Aurand-Humpf. This book features 24 detailed illustrations, based on the work of renowned Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha. Full-color reference images are available on colormechilled.com to help you with your creative journey. About Mucha and Art Nouveau Alphonse Mucha was a Czech artist. He lived and studied in Paris during the Art Nouveau Period. From about 1890-1910, Art Nouveau was a popular style of design that featured graceful, flowing curves. It included decorative arts, architecture, jewelry, pottery, glass, and illustrations. Mucha became an overnight Paris sensation when he created an Art Nouveau poster of actress Sarah Bernhardt. Copies of the life-sized illustration hung all over the streets of Paris and caused an immediate stir. Alphonse Mucha went on to become the most prolific illustrator of the period. Coloring Recommendations The paper used in this book is sturdy but best suited for dry media. Markers also work well, but you should expect some bleed through. We recommend placing a sheet of cardstock in between pages to prevent colors from bleeding onto other pages.
