Fishing the Inner Banks is less celebrated than other more well known fisheries on the east coast. Its mystique is both indefinable and alluring, and its features are comparatively understated. Low magnitude tidal forces, the infrequency of well defined channels, and rapidly fluctuating salinity create seemingly erratic conditions when compared to the predictable rhythms seen in the tidewater regions of the middle and southeast Atlantic coast.
