By Any Means Necessary: A Betrayal of Justice

I was an Investigator for Child Protective Services. My only goal was to find a missing baby. The drug-addicted parents were in hiding, and I didn't know if the baby was dead or alive. Blood covered a mattress and dripped down the walls in the deserted home. Someone was dying, if they weren't dead already. Determined to find the baby before it was too late, I relied on the court orders issued by the judge and set on a path that ultimately led to my unprecedented arrest and conviction. Knowing the fatal impact the trial court's decision would have on future children and CPS investigators across the State, I appealed all the way to the highest criminal court in Texas. For the first time, I reveal the details of the sensational cases the national news got wrong and how I fought for justice when all hope was lost.
