In 1999, Anny attended a workshop in Detroit, Michigan, United States - given by Frank Arjava Petter accompanied by Chetna Kobayashi. Frank is the author of Reiki Fire and Reiki, The Legacy of Dr. Usui. The training was open to anyone having taken Reiki, Level II - regardless of spiritual lineage. There were over 100 students and it was based on the training techniques Mikao Usui taught his students. Anny reflected on this training and realized energy workers may apply many of the techniques to their practice. Frank and Chetna required no initiation and taught only techniques - some of which involved Table Work. One of the requests by Chetna was to not photocopy the Kanji she had supplied for the workshop hand-outs. Honouring Chetna's request resulted in Anny having the privilege of meeting a Japanese Scholar in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This honourable meeting, combined with Anny's many years of teaching Reiki around the world, inspired Anny to share the profound experiences of the Mikao Usui Reiki techniques she learned.
