The Apostle John was one of the first followers of Jesus. Since he loved Jesus and wanted others to know him, believe in him, and remain faithful to him, he wrote a book about Jesus' life (the Gospel of John) along with three letters to the churches of his day (1 John, 2 John, and 3 John). This translation of his Gospel and Letters was developed as part of a preaching series on John's writings at Glory of Christ Fellowship in Elk River, Minnesota. It strives to be true to the original Greek language in which John wrote, but also easy for English speakers to read. It is offered at cost in the hope that many will read John's words, believe in Jesus, and gain eternal life through him. As John himself wrote, "Jesus also did many other signs in the presence of his disciples which are not written in this book. But these things have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name" (John 20:30-31).
