A young girl sat in the bomb shelter waiting for the next horrendous bomb to hit her family. Millie's family, as all of London were thrown into the middle of the chaos of WW1. Without enough food to feed the family, Millie was sent to America to find money and fortune to help her family. The first site of the Statue of Liberty stirred love and happiness. The reality of the life of a new immigrant hit Millie hard when she realized it was not easy to assimilate in New York. With the help of caring friends, she decided to try her luck in Detroit, the emerging auto capital of the world. With hard work and education, Millie found her life much easier and exciting. With a new career, she emerged as an independent, modern woman of the 1920's.Love found Millie and she evolved into a new, wealthy woman with one goal; to help others as she was helped.
