According to an ABC Poll 83% of Americans identify themselves as Christians.. Of this .53 % are Protestants, 22% percent Catholic. 37%t of all Christians describe themselves as born-again or evangelical which includes nearly half of all Protestants (47 percent). However, we all need to ask: how viable is our faith? Do we just carry on traditions because of our upbringing or is our faith in Christ intensely personal and inspirational? Boredom should never be a feature of our lives- if we have experienced a born again encounter with God!.The Body of Christ-the church should be the living example of Christ on earth in holiness, love and compassion. If these traits are not evident, then we do need a fresh touch from God both personally and collectively. This is the the thrust of this book! To challenge and inspire the reader to examine his or her life and commit to all that Jesus demands so that He would restore and rekindle His love and grace within us. God wants to work through us and His church but we all have to bring our lives under His agenda and expectations. When this happens the Holy Spirit will 'explode" within us the Life of Christ and our spiritual awakening will have begun. Read pray-fully and apply His Word as you work though the chapters. Revival -Gods way is just 'around the corner.!" If our Christianity is dull and boring then we need to know that there is more-much more! Jesus came to give our lives meaning and purpose every day of our brief existence and not just for us to identify with a denomination or church. The life of Jesus Christ is meant to be invasive and pervasive, affecting every facet of the believers existence. We were destined to live a joyful. passionate-Spirit filled life -a quality of living that worldly wealth, sensual pleasure or personal ambitions falls by the wayside in comparison to the abundant life in Christ. Formality, passionate less praying and preaching are often the norm. Congregants sometimes attend out of duty and not because of a consuming desire to know the God of the Bible.For non church people or the spiritually insensitive to turn to the church -we first have to demonstrate a passion, love and intensity that flows out of our daily communion with Christ which will subsequently, outshine every aspiration of the non-believer, so they see and feel that we have much more than they do. For this to happen the church and individual christian must experience a spiritual renewal. Allow God to do a new work in you and in your your church-be available to Him, and say in your heart -" I WANT MORE! There is no second baptism but a complete turning to Christ, giving Him all our sins and personal ambitions and making Him absolute Lord! When that happens there will be a personal spiritual break- through and the Lord of glory will no longer be on the outside, knocking, pleading and begging to come in!This will transform our tastes and goals and affect the spiritually unconnected around us. The politicians and celebrities do not have the ultimate answers, as they themselves need a Savior, but even if everyone can attain the American Dream- there will still be a deep and empty feeling of not having personal peace and hope. Only Jesus Christ can meet the deepest need of the human race .The book is my take on where we are and how we can experience a mighty touch from God if wee seek Him ---His way!
