Four young people; Linden Burdell, Delsie and Shelba McCord and Reggie Moseley, find themselves in trouble, in the Louisiana and Mississippi Bayou in the 1950's deep South region of the United States of America. They all experience the harsh and brutal realities of racial tension and white supremacy as their journey takes them to the last remains of their physical endurance and mental stability.
