Chief inspector David Schreiber's strong disposition is jolted this rainy August when the murders of two women shock the city of Bamberg. It quickly becomes obvious that the killings are linked and that the offender tries to copy the serial killer, who stalked the streets of London in 1888: Jack the Ripper. The people of Bamberg feel insecure and the city becomes the focus of the media. Can the killer strike again in this tranquil town, making history morbidly repeat itself? Time works relentlessly against the investigators from Bamberg Police Department 1. And now, at the worst time possible, Schreiber's daughter Nike moves back to Bamberg... Autor's Note: This is a thriller from Germany, set in the small town of Bamberg. It is a so-called Regionalkrimi (a local crime story). This type of novel usually focuses on one specific town or region and is especially popular among the locals. That's why they're mostly not translated into English. I don't think you have to know Bamberg to really enjoy my story. Plus: I've got some good old friends in the USA. That's why I've translated Jumpin' Jack myself. Have fun!... And, if you do know beautiful Bamberg (maybe you were there as a GI?), you'll probably enjoy my book a little more...
