All of the animals are from the local farm or from the nearby wooded area, except one. It was hard for the animals to accept Gerald Giraffe at first because he was so tall and ate so much more than the rest of them. He was part of a circus that came through town and as they were traveling, the truck turned over and many of the animals escaped. Gerald Giraffe managed to find his way to the farm. He was so charming that the rest of the animals accepted him, as well as the farmer. However, when Spicy Sparrow gets into danger all the animals come to the rescue as they began to learn about themselves.
