Sue Lindenberg McClelland is retired Marriage and Family therapist with an additional master's degree in Fine Arts and Fiction. This book comes out of her interest and knowledge of families and how they work and the many unanswered questions she is asks. Sue grew up in Pittsburg's Hill District. As part of her master's degree program at Eastern Washington University, she wrote, About the Dybbuks, a series of interconnected short stories set in the Hill District of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Major characters are Nathan and Sidney (Lindy) Lindenberg, their parents, Hyman and Sarah Cohen Lindenberg, Sarah's father, Ezra Cohen, the "Shohet," and her sister, Golda. Themes for the stories are based on chance remarks about her father's childhood and interviews with Eastern European immigrants at Pittsburgh's Jewish Community Center. The Irene Kaufmann Settlement is a real place and plays a large part in this story.
