The Moment of Capture is a collection of story poems does not have a central character or locale; rather, there are various recurring locales and characters that are interwoven into the work and appear throughout, some real, some imaginary. The overriding theme of the book, and its true purpose, is to tell stories by way of poetry. Each poem, whether short or long, tells a story that is to entertain the reader and make him or her think, and hopefully, feel. The majority of these poems were derived from dreams, not fantasies or aspiration, but actual dreams experienced by the author while sleeping at night, and recorded upon awakening. The dreams are then worked up into poems and worked on, edited, revised, and revamped until completed, a process that can days or even weeks. The author is a firm proponent of utilizing dreams as sources of poems, as it is then when the subconscious reveals itself and the imagination is most fertile. This approach in its theoretic and mechanical aspects is discussed in the author's article on Bridle Path Press' website in their From The Masters series, which can be found and read at: http://www.bridlepathpress.com/FromtheMastersSeptember2014/tabid/261/Default.aspx
