In spite of his ever-present fear of being discovered and deported, his work ethic, courage, perseverance, and sense of humor, along with his love of music usher him into adulthood toward his goal of owning land and farming in Nebraska. Frank's story serves as a powerful example of the hardships our ancestors endured, so we may all call ourselves Americans.
