George W. Bush is the elder son of the 41st President George H. W. Bush. Born into a family with long political roots, Bush desired to be successful like his father. But a bit wild in his younger years, he still participated in both of the family's businesses: politics and oil. Much of his early adventures were done with other's monies and Bush always came out with much more than he put in. His oil adventure was less than successful, but his purchase of the Texas Rangers was successful. As was his bid to unseat a popular Democratic Governor in Texas' Ann Richards. In the sixth year of his term, Bush ran successfully for President in a very controversial election that was only decided by a Supreme Court Decision.
