Old Nubian Miracle Of St. Mena

This text is one of the few surviving works to come out of the Nubian church in its zenith. It gives a comical account of a pilgrim drawn to the church of the Coptic Saint Menas, and the events that transpire along the way. It has its parallels in Coptic literature, but its distinctive because of its employment of the medieval Nubian tongue and its orientation towards Upper Egypt.
