The first volume, 'The Melog Foundation, ' told the story of the mysterious young servant girls that started appearing in Borough Park. They were the young wards of the Melog Foundation, and they love to help caring for the large families of the Hasidic Jews. First there are few, then there are many, soon there is trouble. One got arrested for dancing, while others caught the attention of the hipsters who were invading the neighborhood. Feeling that they were not complete, the young wards confronted Dr. Bernstein who ran their "therapy sessions." Bernstein confessed that they were not real girls but robots he had assembled in the back room from components he and Dr. Kronski pilfered from defense contractors. Finding out that they were not human but robots had an almost liberating effect on the young sisters, who sometimes referred to themselves as "Golem girls." They started assembling more and more Golem Girls in the back room. Soon the sentient parrots who haunted the neighborhood grew alarmed at the proliferating Golem Girls. The emerald birds then schemed with the hipsters and the Silicon Valley investors to get rid of the young wards. At the end the Golem Girls transformed themselves and became free by virtue of their astonishing Golem powers. In this second volume the military tries to weaponized the Golem effect in order to win the Eternal War.
