Desiree, a romantic suspense writer, is jilted by handsome doctor and most eligible bachelor, Mark. She accepts a job housesitting on a one residence island, hoping to recover emotionally and to finish her latest novel. A terrible storm ensues on the very first night she and her dog, Lazlo, spend there, leaving them alone in a strange place in the dark.
