The reader will doubt the claim, but this story is mostly true. It is based on the diary of the man who lived it and gave me an envelope of used one hundred dollar bills to write it. I don't mind telling you, there were stains on some of those bills that sure looked like blood-splatter. When Johnny passed it over the dim bar table, I wasn't sure I was going to get out alive. Even though his name is not 'Johnny June', when this book hits the shelves, the Mafia guys he's grassed on will hit the streets, scouring the country for him. Johnny June's story has it all, and will probably be a Hollywood movie one day; if there's a director brave enough. High-grade marijuana from South America came through New Orleans to supply Little Rock's 'upper crust folks' ... and man, did those aristocrats have an appetite! Murder, drug-running, shootings, prostitution, sex, trafficking, you lift a newly-laid piece of turf in Johnny June's trail, you'll find pieces of a body. This is an adult story, I make no apology for it. If you're a fan of the genre, you'll enjoy this ... Just don't go turning over any loose turf you find ...--Page 4 of cover.
