The locals wondered about the new house that was built up on the hill and could just barely be seen from the road. They waited in vain to meet the new neighbors. Lucas built the house of his dreams and was determined to stay there alone and have as little contact with other people as possible. He couldn't imagine ever inviting another into his new home.
