'Prisoners of History: The Story of Dalia, a Palestinian' is a 'non-fiction' novel of contemporary events. It's about a girl, one of over 1,000,000 Palestinian children trapped as prisoners in the military "Occupied Territories" of Gaza and the West Bank, and her struggle for food, electricity, education... and freedom. The short, but disturbing, fact-based narrative is based on official Israeli policies, secret police tactics, real-life events, and authentic episodes experienced by actual people. The use of the word 'Prisoners' in the title is derived from the book by Israeli-British scholar and Professor of History Ilan Pappe, The Biggest Prison on Earth. Since 1975, the author has been to Israel over 20 times, and over 10 times to Palestine. Over the years, he has met with hundreds of people, including government and military officials, as well as private meetings with Ehud Olmert (former Mayor of Jerusalem and former Prime Minister of Israel), Hanna Nasser (former Major of Bethlehem), and Yasser Arafat (former President of Palestine). With fascinating and informative 'interviews' throughout the narrative, Dalia explains the oppression and obstacles she and her little brother endure, and their efforts to become educated, under Israeli military rule. Disturbing details are revealed about the thousands of Palestinian children physically harmed, killed, arrested, and imprisoned -- including a special Israeli military court for children. Also shocking is authentic modern scholarship from leading academicians at universities in Israel, exposing the mythology behind the Exodus, and revealing that most Israelis have European blood -- not Semitic blood. The 'interviews' of Dalia are conducted by three composite journalists, from the US, the UK, and Israel, who provide an ongoing analysis and fascinating new insights of the biblical history, philosophy, and shocking policies of the military theocracy of Israel -- while attempting to maintain intellectual courage, a constant sense of humor, and even love. It is a narrative of a real live, on-going human tragedy... including the many brave Israelis who risk their futures and welfare trying to stop these atrocities. [Artwork by Carlos Latuff]
