It's December the First. All the elves and goblins are extremely excited, and Father Christmas has just selected his Star Elf of the Year, Evergreen Frostly, to put the star on top of the huge Christmas Tree in the middle of the North Pole Town Square. But watching from afar is villain Mr. Grit and his sidekick Crook, a goblin who once upon a time turned sour and was Banished from the North Pole, and wants revenge. Together, they've hatched a plan. As Evergreen climbs up the tree, they stun him, causing him to fall and bump his head, forgetting what Christmas is all about. Through kidnap and disguises, foul play and foolery, they use Evergreen to take down Christmas from the inside, creating havoc for Father Christmas and his team, Mr. Frederick Jingleton, his Head Elf, and Goose, his PA. At the same time, on the outside, Edwina Inksmith, founder of The Northerly Herald, joins forces with Mr. Grit and uses her spies to report the stories of the chaos ensuing from within, dividing the elves and goblins of the North Pole, as nobody knows what to believe. With Father Christmas seemingly losing his hold over the reins of Christmas, the festive season and its existence is threatened. Can Evergreen be rescued? Can Mr. Grit and Crook be stopped? And can Christmas go ahead as planned? Only time will tell...
