Quite simply because when Magical Beings that are perceptually asleep, being property of powerful Wizards whose Dynasties are ancient, are awoken, their Keepers send their Laperion death squads to put them back to sleep, permanently: Only thing is, where these death squads are concerned, the Bad Apples of Granny Six-Smith, literally live to face these fiends in good old fashioned gunfights as a matter of fun. But first, they must single a man out, and wake him up. Only then will they come; and the old abandoned town they have chosen to stage this theater of bloodshed of theirs, and the man they have chosen this time round, are perfect. Only this time, the enemies of all Magical Beings, from the good, the feisty, and even the asleep, haven't sent one of their usual wick wet sapling scouts this time. THERE WILL BE AN AWAKENING.
