Your Friend Offers A New You

Volume Two of the series God My Friend focuses on God's program for helping us transform into people who are just like His Son Jesus. The Mount of Transfiguration is explained, and the lives of the people on the mount are explored. The message is one of hope for everyone, since the Bible is full of lost people who were transformed by God as they partnered with Him. While the enunciation of the gospel as God's offer to save us from our sin through the death of Jesus, the whole gospel includes His offer to help us enjoy the life of Jesus. This is seen in the members of the early church who took over Jesus' ministries for Him after His ascension to heaven. This message will be particularly attractive for anyone who feels that they have come to a dead end in their life, and would like to go in a new direction. More mature believers, though, will appreciate the insights into what God has been doing in their lives all along. The Mount of Transfiguration is not, then, an odd event that does not fit with the other events of Jesus' life; it is the key event of the life of Jesus, for it reveals God's purpose for all the ministries and actions of Jesus.
