Arman is a young orphan living in the middle of war-torn Kabul. He is ill-treated by the family he lives with but finds solace in his best friend Jamal and his love of reading. After a tragic occurrence, he is forced to leave Kabul and make an extraordinary journey over land and water in an attempt to reach the safety of London.
