West Hollywood, circa 1979. The punk rock scene has taken off as has the career of Sugar Smith, an aspiring punk rock singer. Sugar has just landed a gig with Snake Pit, house band at the famed Viper Den and the hottest band in town. But just as everything seems to be going her way, the murder of Snake Pit's former singer--the very singer Sugar just replaced in a less-than-friendly coup--threatens to destroy Sugar's entire life. The murderer is out for revenge: Sugar's life, career and family--including her brother and her two young half-siblings--are all under the gun.
