Cassius loves being Caretaker, a job that directly influences and guides the productivity of the town of Windhaven. It's a job he takes seriously, which is why when a cook at one of the local food stalls whispers to him that something strange is going on up at the mines, he doesn't hesitate on checking it out. But after an accident in the mines leaves him trapped deep within the mountain, he's forced to find a way out before it's too late. Soon after, he stumbles upon a hidden cave of crystal and a heated argument between two strangers. After watching a powerful sorcerer named Lucian drain one of the planet's last reservoirs of energy, Cassius is suddenly thrust into a much larger story and set on an adventure that leaves him changed forever. Lenora's plan for the day was to run her errands and then sleep like there was no tomorrow. Of course, like most of her plans, things don't quite go as planned, only this time it's not her causing things to go awry. After spotting a strange man in an alleyway and reporting it to a nearby guard, Windhaven is suddenly attacked by strange men from a far off land. It's not long after that she finds herself captured by the same strange man she had seen earlier, but just when she thinks it's all over, something inside her awakens. The next thing she knows she's using abilities she never knew she had and doing things that she never thought possible, like smacking a bolt of lightning into the face of one of the barbarians. She helps a few people escape out into the desert and before long she finds herself on her own journey, one of self discovery. She soon discovers that her actions might just affect more than just her own fate, but the entire planet's.The Azonian Empire is gone and Azon, the home world of the Azonian race, is the last bastion for their people. A long war that spanned the entire solar system shattered the Azonian Empire and left their civilization in shambles. Their hostile foes, the Verus, came from the black of space and drained every Azonian world of life, leaving those planets as dried up husks drifting through the cosmos. But the genocidal rampage of these ferocious, nightmarish, and uncaring creatures was stopped by a desperate, last ditch effort by a man named Axiom. The survivors of the Collapse are few and scattered across the globe, but thanks to Axiom there is still life on Azon, however diminished it might be. It now falls on Axiom to protect his people and save his home world at all costs. Standing in his way though is Lucian, a powerful sorcerer blessed by the gods and tasked with siphoning the last reservoirs of life energy that Azon has left. Once like a brother to Axiom, Lucian now leads his army of Verus on a path of destruction. All that stands in his way is his old friend Axiom, who will do anything to stop Lucian from draining the life force from Azon. This energy, called Xía, is all that holds the world together. Without it, Azon will crumble into dust. Join Axiom, Cassius, Lenora, and more as they go on an adventure of a lifetime. Read on as they encounter barbarians, monsters, mages, and more as they travel their world in search of a new home and of stopping the High Mageus himself, Lucian. Echoes is set in the ruins of what once was a great, solar spanning empire. Civilization has collapsed and the Azonian race struggles to survive on a daily basis. Adding to the chaos are Lucian and the Verus, who's only goal seems to be hastening the destruction of the planet. The only ones standing in his way are Axiom, Cassius, and Lenora. In the end, will Azon and it's people, survive?
